Philip R. Liebman, MLAS, ALPS Leadership founder and CEO, is an accomplished leadership advisor and coach to CEOs and C-level executives. Since 2005, he has led CEO peer groups and executive think tanks while speaking throughout North America and the UK on leadership topics ranging from “Fiscal Leadership” to “The Pursuit of Competence” and “Cultivating MoJo.”He is currently a Fellow at The Thayer Institute for Performance Virtuosity, where he earned his Master of Leadership Arts and Sciences (MLAS).

Through his coaching practice, Phil has logged well over 15,000 hours of deep, probing, productive dialogue with CEOs and senior executives. He combines Socratic investigation with mentoring, driven by his extensive business experience, advanced leadership training, and unique perspective as a recognized thought leader. Through stories, establishing a powerful rapport, and applying proven concepts and diagnostic tools, Phil is highly regarded among his peers as well as his many clients.

Mr. Liebman led the launch of several equity-funded startups, where he was instrumental in developing business plans and raising capital. He also served as general manager and a key advisor to a US congressional campaign. Phil is a strong, creative thinker with a lifelong interest in the arts. He is also deeply interested in the role and relationship of the arts in the development of high-performing leadership. In his early professional career, he founded a commercial photography studio in Manhattan’s photo district and co-founded an independent jazz recording label.

Among his business accomplishments, he co-founded and served as CEO of Blue Moon Brands, a natural/specialty food manufacturer and importer; served as a board-level advisor to LearnToReadOnline.com, a distance learning company; was hired to lead the start-up of Maxverse International, a consumer electronics and technology subsidiary of Toymax International (acquired by Jakks Pacific, Inc. JAKS); was the founder and CEO of ecoMedia Publishing Enterprises; and President and Chief Creative Officer of Mailographic Company, Inc./MDirect Advertising.

During his 20 years with Mailographic/MDirect, Mr. Liebman worked with industry leaders in the financial services, health care, publishing, telecommunications, consumer products, and hi-tech sectors, providing innovative, leading-edge marketing communications solutions and expertise in customer acquisition and retention, corporate communications, and print and direct mail production management. He also advised clients on product development, brand positioning, and brand management strategies.

Phil has served as the Board Chairman and trustee for a regional living history museum. His personal interests include Leadership and The Arts—championing youth leadership and arts programs—travel, hiking, golf, songwriting, and musical performance. He and his wife have raised four children and reside in New York’s Lower Hudson Valley.
